Nicholas Adams earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He then attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana to receive his Master's Degree in Political Science. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2003 where he served as a member of the Jessup International Moot Court team. Along with Nick's extensive education, he also has earned many certifications and memberships throughout his career such as a Registered Domestic Relations Mediator, Benjamin Harrison Inns of Court Member and a member of the Allen County Bar Association.
Nick has served as an Adjunct Professor at the Indiana Institute of Technology and taught American Government with an emphasis on Constitutional Law and teaches Professional Development/Continuing Education courses, such as "Hanging Out Your Own Shingle" at Indiana Tech Law School. Nick is admitted to practice before Indiana state courts, as well as U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Indiana. He serves as Judge Pro Tem, Mediator and Arbitrator for the Allen County Superior Courts and also co-coordinates mediation day at the Allen County Superior Court.
Nick has extensive trial and litigation experience which includes major felony, divorce, termination of parental rights trials, protection order trials, and much more.
Nicholas Adams is a National Master in chess and is an avid tennis player.
Nicholas Adams believes in giving back to his community. He does this by educating others on law and volunteering his time. Nick volunteers as a Guardian Ad Litem for Kids Voices of Indiana and he also volunteers for the National Civics Education Program. Schools, such as New Haven Middle School, have reached out to Nicholas Adams several times to be a guest speaker for their students on career day and as a volunteer judge for their Middle School class competitions.
Legal Assistant Profile
Rachel Atkins has been Nick's legal assistant since 2016. Her passion for the legal system began when she graduated with Honors from Columbia City High School in 2012 and pursued her education at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne. She was a part of the Women's Varsity Bowling Team for two years while she attended Indiana Tech and was also a member of Student Ambassadors. In 2016, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Psychology and received Summa Cum Laude Honors. Rachel is currently attending Huntington University in pursue of a Master's Degree in Business Administration. While she is attending Huntington University, she is also bowling for the Women's Varsity team.
In Rachel's spare time, you can find her spending time with family and friends, traveling, studying for her classes, bowling, and scrapbooking. Rachel enjoys being outdoors and enjoying the sunshine. Her future plans include attending Law School in the Fall of 2019 after she graduates with her Master's Degree.
